OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The NYIT men's lacrosse team's seven-game winning streak came to end on Saturday with a 9-8 loss to 15th-ranked Seton Hill at President's Stadium.

The Griffins scored the game's opening three goals, but the fourth-ranked Bears pulled even at 5 in the second quarter on consecutive goals from Will Kistinger, Andrew Zito and Matt Murphy.

The teams went to the fourth quarter tied at 6, but Seton Hill got goals from Jack Moran and Bennett Johnson to take a two-goal lead.

Matthew Chanenchuk's goal with 5:20 remaining pulled the Bears within 8-7, but Johnson restored a two-goal cushion for Seton Hill. NYIT's Tom Hughes capped the scoring with three seconds remaining.

Chanenchuk finished with two goals and three assists to lead the Bears.

NYIT fell to 10-2, while Seton Hill improved to 7-4.
