Erin Smith, Karie Znaniecki named second-team All-American by IWLCA

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — NYIT seniors Erin Smith and Karie Znaniecki have been named second-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Smith, the East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, started all 19 games during the inaugural season for the Bears. She produced one goal, 41 groundballs, 35 draw controls and 25 caused turnovers.

Znaniecki, a first-team All-ECC selection along with Smith, had a team-leading 102 points on 49goals and 53 assists. The point total ranked second in the league, trailing only Roberts Wesleyan's Cassley Jackowski (118).
