NYIT Athletics welcomes Rachel Reeves as the new Head Women's Soccer Coach, effective March 1, 2016, as announced by Duane Bailey, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.

Additional to her coaching duties and responsibilities, Reeves will take on the role as a secondary game day administrator for the athletic department and help manage assigned sports including the creation and execution of game day management plans to ensure a positive game day experience for all student-athletes, coaches, officials and spectators.

"We are excited to welcome Rachel to our NYIT Athletics family. She has been both a player and coach at the highest levels of college soccer and is committed to successfully developing students both academically and athletically," said Bailey. "I expect that Rachel will come in and instill a culture of success at NYIT, while embracing our commitment to a high caliber student-athlete experience."

Reeves comes from Wagner College, where she spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach. In that role, the Huntington, N.Y. native was responsible for designing practice programs and a pre-game warm up along with off-campus recruiting.  She was a defender for the Green and White from 2010-2013, and helped the team in 2013, to the winningest season in program history. She was a four-year letterwinner at Wagner as well as a captain during her final season.

"I would like to thank Duane Bailey for giving me this opportunity to lead the NYIT women's soccer team," commented Reeves.  "I am extremely excited to meet the players and begin working with them as we prepare for the 2016 season. I look forward to building on the foundation that has been set over the past few years and to bring the program new levels of success."

Since 2014, Reeves has acted as an assistant coach for the Staten Island United Gunners and the Silver Lake Soccer Club, where she worked with athletes ages 14-17 years old.  She earned a degree in business administration in 2013 from Wagner College and will receive her master's degree in business administration in May.
