OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (April 19, 2014) - The NYIT women's tennis team continued its winning ways with a 6-3 victory over regional rival Concordia (N.Y.) Saturday afternoon at the Tennis Complex in Old Westbury, N.Y. The Bears are now 22-5 on the season and the Clippers are 13-6 overall.
The Bears claimed a 2-1 lead heading into singles play with wins at second and third doubles. NYIT then clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory by Gabriela Siembab (Chrzanow, Poland) over Alla Kravchuk at third singles.
NYIT brings the 2013-2014 regular-season to a close on Monday, April 21 on the road against NCAA Division I opponent Fordham University. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Bronx, N.Y.
